June 05, 2026

New England’s Largest Water Park® Offers Upgraded Experiences, Fan-Favorite Events, & a Full Season of Thrills

Portsmouth, NH [May 28, 2026]  Summer weather is on its way, and in just nine days Water Country, New England’s Largest Water Park, will kick off its most exciting season yet. The gates will swing open for the 2026 season on Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m. This year visitors can expect an enhanced guest experience, more days to splash, popular events all season long, and more.

The fun begins with a special first-rider celebration on Opening Day. One lucky guest will be selected at random to take on the very first Water Country slide of the season. The guest can choose from any slide and will receive a special customized first rider shirt and the ultimate bragging rights. Opening Weekend will also include giveaways to the first 50 families in attendance each day, interactive activities including a prize wheel, family-friendly yard games, photo opportunities with the park’s mascot, Spruce the Moose, and more.

Since 2023, Water Country has focused on improving the guest experience at every touch point throughout the park. From the start of visitors days they will notice upgraded parking booths, an all-new entrance that features murals celebrating Portsmouth and New England, an all-new retail store, Adventure Outfitters, new lawn chairs, additional picnic tables, and more. In addition to the beautification of the park, this off-season, Water Country added a state-of-the-art security system to the main gate to help decrease entry times and increase time spent with family inside the park.

"For generations of families across New England, a trip to Water Country has been a summer tradition," said Matt Hehl, General Manager of Water Country. "As we prepare to welcome guests back for another season, we've invested throughout the park to make every visit even better, from the moment guests arrive at our front gate to the time they take their final ride of the day.”

The 2026 season at Water Country is packed with events for families to enjoy all season long. The popular Father’s Day Flop contest will take place on Sunday, June 21 in the Giant Wave Pool. From June 29 through July 5, Water Country will honor America’s 250th birthday with a weeklong celebration featuring barbeque food items, yard games, and more. The park will wrap up the season with its annual Kids Fest where it’s pint-sized party every day from August 10 through August 16.

To celebrate the start of the season, guests can save up to 45% on Tickets and Season Passes now through the Opening Weekend. Thrill seekers that want to enjoy Water Country all summer long, can purchase a 2026 Silver Season Pass for the price of a Single Day Ticket during the park’s opening sale.
